CIMA+ OFFICIALLY OPENS NEW OFFICE IN GRANDE PRAIRIE, STRENGTHENING ITS PRESENCE IN ALBERTA

Canada NewsWire

GRANDE PRAIRIE, AB, Oct. 2, 2026 /CNW/ -- CIMA+, one of Canada's largest private consulting engineering firms, officially opened its new office in Grande Prairie yesterday, marking another milestone in the firm's continued growth in Alberta and Western Canada. This new office, located at 9928 100 Avenue becomes CIMA+'s fifth office in Alberta, and its 11th across Western Canada.

Grande Prairie opening event

The official opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 1st, held in collaboration with the Grande Prairie Chamber of Commerce. The new office formalizes CIMA+'s presence in Grande Prairie, where employees have already been working locally for the past year. The firm plans to continue hiring in the coming months to strengthen its local team and expand its capacity to serve clients and partners across Northern Alberta.

The Grande Prairie office is part of CIMA+'s broader strategy to bolster its presence across the province and position its teams closer to the communities and markets they serve. Northern Alberta continues to generate opportunities across several sectors, and the new office provides a local base from which CIMA+ can provide expertise in buildings, infrastructure, transportation, energy and resources, and other key sectors to support a wide range of projects.

"Grande Prairie is an important part of our continued development in Western Canada and particularly in Alberta, where we see significant opportunities for growth across several markets. Establishing a permanent office here brings us closer to our clients and partners, and enhances our ability to respond to the evolving needs of our northern communities." said Daniel Matthews, Regional Executive Vice President, Western Canada at CIMA+.

CIMA+ is committed to building a strong local presence and developing lasting relationships within the Grande Prairie business community. The firm recently became a member of the Grande Prairie Chamber of Commerce and intends to continue engaging with local organizations, clients and partners as its team grows.

"Our goal is to combine local knowledge with national expertise. We know Grande Prairie, we understand the realities of the region, and we want to be active members of this community. At the same time, our clients and partners here can draw on CIMA+'s multidisciplinary expertise from across Canada to support projects in a wide range of sectors." said Trevor North, Lead Engineer and Grande Prairie Office Lead at CIMA+.

Grande Prairie also represents a strategic location within the transportation and logistics corridor serving Northern Alberta and communities farther north. This positioning supports CIMA+'s broader market development strategy, including its growing capabilities in the defence sector.

"Strengthening our presence in Northern Alberta is an important part of our defence market strategy. Grande Prairie's location along a key northern logistics corridor brings us closer to the communities, partners and infrastructure that will play an important role in supporting Canada's evolving defence needs. It also allows us to mobilize expertise from across CIMA+ to support complex, multidisciplinary projects." said Sylvain Gazaille, Senior Director, Defence Market at CIMA+.
